Privacy Policy
Feasty ("we", "us", or "the app") is a meal-planning app that helps you plan budget-friendly dinners, price your grocery list, and cook with what you have. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We built Feasty to collect as little as possible.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details (only if you sign in): Feasty works without an account. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address to create and secure your account and to sync your data across devices. Signing in is optional — you can use the app anonymously instead.
- Preferences you set up: household size, weekly grocery budget, dietary restrictions, allergies, cuisines you like, cooking skill, and similar meal-planning inputs. This lets Feasty tailor plans to you.
- Your fridge and shopping list: ingredients you add or scan, and items on your grocery list.
- Photos (only when you use the fridge scan): when you photograph your fridge, the image is sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini) to detect food items. We do not store the image tied to your identity, and it is not used to train models on your personal data.
Information collected automatically
- Device identifier: Feasty creates a random identifier for your install so your plans and lists can sync and be restored. It is not your Apple ID and does not by itself identify you personally. If you sign in, this identifier is associated with your account.
- Approximate location (only with your permission): if you allow location access, we use your device location to find grocery stores near you and price your basket. We do not track your movements or store a location history, and we never put your location in a URL or share it with advertisers.
- Purchase status: whether you have an active subscription, so we can unlock premium features. Payments are processed by Apple; we never see your card details.
- Usage analytics: we record in-app usage events — which screens you view, which features you use (for example scanning your fridge or generating a plan), and how long a session lasts. These events are tied to the random device identifier above and, if you sign in, to your account. They are processed only on our own first-party analytics infrastructure, which we operate across our apps, and are used solely to understand how the app is used and improve it. We never use them for advertising, we never sell them, and there is no third-party or cross-company ad tracking.
2. How we use your information
- To generate meal plans and recipes tailored to your budget, household, and tastes.
- To detect ingredients from a fridge photo and match them to recipes.
- To build and price your shopping list, and show grocery stores and prices near you.
- To create and secure your account and sync your data across devices, if you sign in.
- To sync your data across app launches and restore it if you reinstall.
- To provide, maintain, and improve the app, and to fix problems.
We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.
3. Service providers we share data with
To run the app, limited data is processed by trusted providers, only for the purposes above:
- Supabase — secure database, backend, and authentication that stores your preferences, plans, fridge, and lists, tied to your device identifier and, if you sign in, to your account (created with Sign in with Apple or Google).
- Google (Gemini & Places APIs) — AI meal/recipe generation, fridge-photo ingredient detection, and nearby-store lookup.
- Kroger — real product prices and aisle locations when a Kroger-family store is near you (only your shopping-list item names and approximate location are sent).
- Adapty & Apple — subscription management and payment processing.
- Our analytics backend — a first-party analytics service we operate (and share across our own apps) that stores the usage events and device identifier described above. It is not a third-party ad network or data broker, and it does not receive your fridge photos, location, or grocery data.
Each provider processes data under its own privacy and security terms. We share the minimum needed for the feature to work.
4. Camera, photos, and location permissions
Feasty asks for camera and photo access only to scan your fridge, and location access only to find nearby stores. You can decline any of these and still use the rest of the app, and you can change your choices anytime in your device Settings.
5. Notifications
With your permission, Feasty sends helpful reminders (for example, a dinner reminder or a cook-timer alert). You can turn these off in Settings at any time.
6. Data retention and deletion
Your data is kept while you use the app so your plans and lists persist. You can delete your account and data at any time from inside the app: go to Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and the data associated with it — your profile, saved recipes, meal plans, fridge and shopping lists, cooking history, and store requests — from our systems. Uninstalling the app also removes your local data. To request deletion of any remaining data associated with your device identifier, including analytics events, email us at the address below and we will delete it.
7. Children's privacy
Feasty is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us — we honor valid requests.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app.
